After a Week filled with the usual, Running calls and transfers, A large industrial fire at my volunteer department and dealing with a a rear-end collision from the hands of my neighbor which resulted in the deal I had with a good friend of mine buying my car for tuition money going down the crapper, I was in much need of a track day.
With that being said, I realized upon pre-registering for the event, that it was on Mothers Day. I tried to rescind my registration to no go but found out that I would not be charged if I did not go to the event.
Saturday evening, I am at my parents, trying to sort the damage, repair my spoiler and bleed my clutch line on
Inari
while chatting with my mom.
Mom: Didn’t you have Autocross tomorrow?
Me: Yeah, But I am not gonna go, I realized that it was Mother’s day tomorrow so what would you like to do?
Mom: For you to go to autocross so I can watch.
After a little bickering, I told her I would go If I could at the least buy dinner that night or whenever the family could officially meet up, (Sister was working and so my Dad).
So Sunday morning, I grab a small set of tools, Clear out my car and grab some extra fluids just in case. A brief pit stop at the gas station to fillup with Go-go juice, Coffee and a protein bar I arrive at my event.
Arrived at my event and got settled in, Not a major turnout and a few new people out there, after getting everything set, I wandered around the “Pits” talking with a few people.
After chatting and assisting a 16 year old make up some battery tie down out of bungie cords in his $400 dollar celica GT it was time to walk the course, This month was different, Involving a little twist
(Not pictured, curse words )
So, I was part of the slow group, I lined up and may people were wanting to ride, i was not shooting for time, So I welcomed all visitors to ride in the wonderful mr2 in may pseudo capable hands. Tires squealed, Snap oversteer wanted to rear its head but by the grace of god and some other deity I manage not to spin and laid down some reasonable times in the morning runs.
However on the first run of the Afternoon heat, I was sidelined due to 2 quarter shape drops of oil from my car, I look under and I assume it is my Oil pan or my oil cooler line that is leaking. I pulled into grid and caught some rides with a couple other people. I was feeling pretty bummed that I wouldn’t run in the afternoon but nothing big. So, i tried to take some pictures of some of the cars.
( Inari sidelined due to leaky 4AGE, Figured the “X X”s would be fitting.)
(The damage from the rear end collision, It is not as bad as expected, but I am going to need a new boot and spoiler, it still latches though! And I have to find anther Tail light core support or whatever it is called.)
Nice NSX, He threw down some good times.
Doge.
The 16 year olds, $400 dollar celica, The tires would rub the fenders on every turn and hard braking, The 5SFE and Auto trans made a admirable effort, but was never in the right range, May have some iimprovement if he got some smaller tires.
TGWD Bungie cord Special!
Answer is Miatia.
While taking pictures, The regional Executive for our ..Region asked me about the car, I gave him the run down and he thought about it, then tossed me his Rotrex’d S2000 with 2 stipulations.
1. Don’t hit anything hard.
2. Don’t sidestep the clutch.
Woot.
So my last for runs went like this.
1. Damn, I was slow and this car is fast!
2. How the fuck did I cut the car off!?
3. Fuck, That was a cone.
4. Almost there, I am Dialed in annd WHY DO YOU FUCKIN SPIN!
Even though it was atrocious, I did give a few laughs for the guys out there, Put a tank of gas and helped him after the event for letting me take the car around the track, really tempted to try a S2000 now.
As for
Inari
, After checking my oil, The level was unchanged so I am thinking it is seeming or residue that was dripping. I may have to see about the possible loan I am going to take out to factor in enough money for a rebuild or a Blacktop 20v...Whatever comes first.

No liability insurance? How is the car registered / how does he have a license? I know my insurance had some optional uninsured motorist coverage, but I’m not sure if yours does.
I’m glad you enjoyed the track day and got to drive the s2000. That thing looks sweet.

Sorry for the late reply, Some reason I can not log on at home.
He has dementia and by all accounts not supposed to be driving, that is what the family said to me like it covers the fact that it happened. Everything was out of date and all that jazz. I need to look into my insurance but I do not think I have that in mine.
Thanks, Yeah it made the day better.
